What are the risks with gas appliances?
Every year about 40 people in the UK die and over 250 are injured through carbon monoxide poisoning caused by gas appliances and flues that have not been properly installed or maintained.
Others are killed by fires and explosions resulting from gas leaks. When it is handled correctly and respectfully, natural gas is a safe, efficient and economical fuel. However, if treated in a careless or indifferent manner, it can become dangerous, wasteful and expensive.
