Safety and security road show success

Hundreds of shoppers stopped to watch the security and safety displays by local fire and police officers at a Road Show at Lemon Quay, Truro.

“We had four demonstrations by the firemen on the dangers of ‘chip pan’ fires and explosions. There were around 50 people to watch the first three and more for the final one,” said Gary Neilson of Penwith Housing Association, which organised the events. The police offered a free property marking and bike coding service which was very popular.

The Association manages over 6,000 homes throughout Cornwall. The Association highlighted recent home safety initiatives and the latest developments in customer service and tenant involvement.

Roadshows have also been held recently at Saltash Leisure Cente and Camborne Tesco's car park. “We look forward to more future dates,” added Mr Neilson.
