PHA Employee of the Year

Penwith Housing Association announces its staff awards

Employee of the Year Lou FryettTwo popular members of the Penwith Housing Association staff at Penzance have been chosen by their colleagues to receive awards. In fact, the customer service team received a double whammy of good news with two of the three annually presented awards going to members of their team.

Louise Fryett (pictured), a customer service officer, is the current ‘Employee of the Year’. She has worked for the association for seven years and was commended for her attitude to work and showing great commitment to obtaining value for money.

She was surprised to have been nominated and stated:

“I was overjoyed when I received this award … and stunned. I never expected to gain the title of Employee of the Year. To be ‘singled’ out as an individual within a great team is exceptional and I thank all my colleagues for voting for me and feeling that I deserve this award. I will endeavour to ‘live up’ to this title by continuing with the work I do”.

John McElroy, customer service team manager, has been selected as ‘Manager of the Year’. John has worked for the association for seven years and was commended for successfully steering his team through a period of change and enabling a smooth transition during the introduction of a new in-house communications system.

The staff award nominations are considered by a panel of staff and residents. Andy Moore, chief executive of PHA commented on the award winners: ‘I'm very proud of their achievements which reflect on our focus on customer service and value for money”.
