Pendeen Couple Bound Over

A Pendeen couple are bound over to keep the peace following incidents of anti social behaviour

West Cornwall Magistrates Court sitting in Truro on Friday 24 September 2010, made Interim Anti Social Behaviour Orders against two Pendeen residents, named as, David Paul Antram of Moorland Close, Pendeen and Victoria Jayne Morrall, who gave her address as Geevor Cottages, Trewellard Road, Pendeen. The Interim Order was made following a multi-agency approach towards resolving numerous and persistent incidents of anti social behaviour centred on a residential property in Moorland Close, Pendeen.

Both persons subsequently breached the Interim Orders and they later appeared before Truro Magistrates Court, during November and early December 2010 respectively, and were convicted of breaches of the Orders, as previously reported in The Cornishman.

On 20 January 2011, David Paul Antram and Victoria Jayne Morrall again appeared before Truro Magistrates Court where they admitted to being involved in incidents of anti social behaviour within the area of Moorland Close, Pendeen and agreed to be bound over to keep the peace for a period of 12 months against a surety of £200 each.

Devon & Cornwall Constabulary, Cornwall Council Anti Social Behaviour team and Penwith Housing Association engaged in partnership working to resolve the prolonged and persistent nature of anti social behaviour in Moorland Close.

Police Sergeant Marc Sayers of Penzance Police Station, said, “‘This is a further housing related case of anti social behaviour that we are working towards resolving in partnership with PHA and Cornwall Council. People who engage in anti-social behaviour must realise that Devon & Cornwall Constabulary will work in partnership with others to ensure that the majority of people within our communities may live peacefully within their homes and free from the anti social behaviours of the minority’.

Natasha Mathews, Cornwall Council Anti Social Behaviour Case Co-Ordinator (West Cornwall) added, “Cornwall Council is committed to combating anti social behaviour in all its forms and will work in partnership with Devon & Cornwall Constabulary and other agencies to ensure that perpetrators are brought to account for their actions and made to realise that unacceptable behaviours and activities will not be tolerated by the law abiding majority”.

Andy Moore, Chief Executive at Penwith Housing Association, said: “These results again show that PHA, part of the Devon & Cornwall Housing Group, and our partner agencies will work together in taking positive action against anti social behaviour so as to ensure, insofar as we are able, that our tenants may enjoy their homes free from the blight of harassment and intimidation inflicted on them by the minority”.
