Happy Healthy Homes Event

Around 150 residents from three major housing groups in Cornwall and Devon will enjoy workshops ranging from genealogy to 'cooking on a budget' and jewellery making at a Happy Healthy Homes event at Truro.

Tenants DayTenants and families from Devon and Cornwall Housing, Penwith Housing Association (PHA) and Tor Homes have been invited to attend and choose from 15 of the arranged workshops.

“Happy healthy homes means happy tenants – and happy tenants means good housing management” said Norman Emberson of Hayle, PHA Board member and vice-chair of the event’s organising committee.

It will be on the ground floor of the Mylor Building of Truro College from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm on Saturday 2nd May 2009. Free transport is being provided and there will be free child-minding and ‘creche’ facilities for those from two to ten, as well as play equipment and arts and crafts materials and Playstation games consoles for them.

“Our last workshop was two years ago and this time we have IT skills, mosaics, ‘pamper yourself’ for the visiting residents as well as circus skills for the younger ones of the programme” he added.

There will also be ‘junk band’ sessions with recyclable materials – including cans and pipes – being used as musical instruments for family entertainment. Those wishing to attend are asked to return their invitations.
