Support Worker Retires
Support worker retires after 26 years working in sheltered accommodation.
With her friends at St Just is Val Burt (centre) who has recently retired after 26 years as a support worker and warden for some 60 retired residents at Vounder Glaze and Lafrowda Close with more than 40 flats and houses.
“I regard them as my friends and have got on happily with them” she remarked after receiving a bouquet and gifts from Andy Moore, Chief Executive of the Penwith Housing Association.
She was joined by neighbours and friends for the presentation.
Every morning over the years she visited each of the residents to see that all was well and if they needed anything.
