PHA to host Anti-Social Behaviour seminar

Penwith Housing Association (PHA), part of Devon & Cornwall Housing group, are to host an event which is the third one of its kind in the South West.

Around 110 people representing social housing providers, local authority ASB caseworkers, health workers and police officers from across Devon and Cornwall will be attending an anti-social behaviour (ASB) forum in early December (5th) at the Lanhydrock Hotel, Bodmin. The aim of the forum is to provide information and share good practice in order to drive improvement in the delivery of ASB services within the social housing sector.

The forum will feature a number of high profile professionals speaking on the general theme of 'ASB case-working in times of financial austerity’.

There will be six speakers covering a range of issues surrounding ASB; from legislation to domestic violence and mental health. Speakers include leading barrister David Campbell from Exeter; Inspector Mark Bolt from Devon and Cornwall Police; Chris Grose from Chartered Institute of Housing; Julian Commons from Cornwall Council’s ASB team; Julie Bingham ASB case working manager for Tor Homes; Richard Potts from the Cornwall Drugs & Alcohol Team (Cornwall Foundation Trust).

PHA’s Chief Executive Andy Moore said: “We are delighted to be hosting this valuable event which brings together many of the key organisations in the south west who are all dedicated to making a positive difference to people’s lives. We have signed up to the government’s ‘Respect Standard for Housing Management’ and take our landlord responsibilities very seriously.Recent changes to our ASB policy and to the way we tackle ASB in our neighbourhoods have been reflected in the tremendous improvement in our ASB customer satisfaction results.”
