Money Matters

PHA is to hold a 'Money Matters' Open Day, bringing agencies together to provide advice and guidance.

Feeling the pinch? Most people are! Why not come along to the ‘Money Matters’ open day in St Johns Hall, Penzance on Friday 28 August, 10am – 4pm. Advice, guidance and money saving ideas will be available from over 15 agencies and everyone is invited to drop in. Entry and refreshments are free.

Agencies include: Citizens Advice Bureau; Age Concern; Inclusion Cornwall; Freecycle; Cornwall Community Banking; Jobcentre Plus; NHS Stop Smoking Service; Benefits Advice; Penwith Community Development and Training and Lizard Pathways.

Penwith Housing Association is hosting the day. Norman Emberson, Chair of PHA’s Doing Things Better Group commented: “Following on from our successful ‘Safety and Security’ roadshow last year, members of our committee felt we should focus on finances. The open day will be like a one stop shop for those concerned about the current economic climate.”

Andy Moore added: “In the current difficult financial climate we wanted to do as much as we can to help our residents cope. We are therefore bringing together a wide range of supportive partner agencies who want to assist to advertise the help that is available. Often people are unaware of the help that is out there. It will be an ideal opportunity for our residents, the public and our partner agencies to see what support is accessible to residents in Cornwall.”
