Neighbourhood inspections

We have previously carried out walkabouts on an ad-hoc basis. We’ve listened to our residents, who have been telling us how much you value this part of the housing service – and have decided to set up a regular schedule of neighbourhood visits and walkabouts. We’re developing a local policy which we are agreeing with our customers.

All neighbourhood areas will receive at least one walkabout per year - some may receive more depending on local circumstances, such as reports of anti-social behaviour, grounds maintenance, number of homes and tenancies and other neighbourhood activities and facilities.If you are interested in learning more about this, please refer to our interim policy which can be found on our website.

The first three months of the walkabout calendar is below. The full calendar for the year will be available soon. Your neighbourhood housing officer will also be able to let you know when a walk-about is planned.

Your neighbourhood housing officer will contact our residents who have expressed an interest in being involved, about 10 days before the walkabout. The walkabout will usually involve:

- a short briefing session from the neighbourhood housing officer and an opportunity for local residents to raise particular issues before the tour

- a walk around tour of the neighbourhood (if you wish to do so)

- a record will be made of any issues identified feedback of actions will be communicated in writing after the walkabout success of the walkabouts will be measured by way of satisfaction results.
