During July 2010 all the boards within the DCH group agreed a proposed revised organisational structure. In order for this structure to be implemented, shareholder agreement to the proposals is required. Proposals for how the consultation with the PHA shareholders should be carried out are currently being considered, however, to ensure that this process is made as effective and efficient as possible it is proposed that shareholder membership is FROZEN.
As part of the consultation, proposals will be outlined as to how existing shareholders could continue to be involved with the association and how new involvement structures could work.
In consideration of the above, the PHA Board meeting on 14 October 2010 decided to FREEZE shareholder membership.
Electing tenant board members
PHA is a non-profit making company with charitable status which has two categories of shareholding membership, residents and community members.
We encourage residents to apply to become shareholding members of the association. From time to time, we also invite non-tenants to become community shareholding members of the association to help with our work.
What does membership offer?
As a member you will:
- have the right to attend and vote at the AGM and other general meetings
- receive our annual report and audited accounts
- receive a copy of our regular PHA Newsletter 'Open Door'.
- have the chance to vote on any proposed changes to our rules
- receive a share certificate.
The board may reject applications which do not fall within its membership policy. There is also a legal restriction on the number of members with local council connections. You are asked to declare these interests when completing your application form.
